HERDSA workshop looks at curriculum renewal

Following on from her morning HERDSA presentation, What’s up with the Australian BA?, Deanne Gannaway will be conducting a hands-on workshop (also brought to you by HERDSA) in the afternoon of Tuesday 10 March from 2 pm to 4.30 pm entitled Taking a design thinking approach to curriculum renewal.

This workshop, which will consider contexts beyond the BA, explores some of the key features of taking a design thinking approach to curriculum, providing an alternate scaffold to traditional curriculum design approaches.

During this session, we will:
• consider curriculum design and renewal challenges facing contemporary academics
• develop an understanding of the principles behind designing thinking
• draw on design thinking tools and processes to explore how a design thinking approach can be translated to the higher education curriculum design context
• consider strategies for aligning the designed curriculum with that which is ultimately implemented

“What’s up with the Australian BA?” will held from 9.30 – 11.30am in the Conference Room, Level 7, Ingkarni Wardli, University of Adelaide. The second workshop will also take place in the Conference Room.
