National framework for working with children takes shape

Researchers from the School of Nursing and Midwifery have started to develop a nation-wide educational framework to create an integrated approach to working with children under five years of age across a variety of disciplines, improving service delivery and reducing negative health impacts.

Led by Dr Julian Grant, the project has received a $223,000 grant from the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching, and – once completed – the framework is planned to be rolled out across TAFE and University curriculums to create a common ground for social workers, childhood teachers, nurses and psychologists.

Updates on the program are available here.
