Launch of verse novel ‘Vanishing Point’

VPA new book by Professor Jeri Kroll, the Dean of Graduate Research, will have its launch at the SA Writers’ Centre, 187 Rundle Street, Adelaide, on Thursday 14 May at 6pm.

Vanishing Point is a verse novel that describes a young woman’s struggle with eating disorders.

“It’s a hopeful story in which the central character goes from a self-destructive cycle of trying to adhere to a self-imposed  mythology of physical perfection, through bulimic and anorexic behaviours, to a place where she understands that she can only be emotionally happy and healthy if she is also physically healthy,” Professor Kroll said.

The Dean of the School of Psychology, Professor Tracey Wade, who is a researcher and clinician in the field of eating disorders, will speak at the event, which will also see the launch by Aidan Coleman of a collection of poetry by Professor Kroll, Workshopping the Heart.

RSVP is essential by 11 May, either via phone, (08) 8352 4455, or email margot@wakefieldpress.com.au and include ’RSVP Jeri Kroll launch’ in the subject line.
