Magna Carta: still important after 800 years

Magna CartaProfessor David Clark of the Flinders Law School will speak on Magna Carta: The Value of a Constitutional Myth at an upcoming Friday at the Library.

The Magna Carta was signed by King John 800 years ago. Professor Clark, a world expert in the Magna Carta, will present a lunchtime talk on its place in the legal framework of the modern world.

Professor Clark has published papers on Magna Carta since the year 2000. He recently wrote for a book published by the American Bar Association and will present a paper at a special Senate Seminar on the Charter in October. This work is a part of a long term interest in key constitutional highlights.

The talk will be at 12.30pm on Friday, May 29, in the Noel Stockdale Room of the Central Library.
