Health awareness events and resources for June

Here are some health awareness events and resources for June complied by the Work Health and Safety Unit

  • Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, 1-30 June – Bowel cancer is the second most common type of newly diagnosed cancer in Australia affecting both men and women almost equally and is Australia’s second biggest cancer killer after lung cancer.
  • Go Red for Women Day, 11 June – Many people think breast cancer is the biggest killer of women. It’s not. Heart disease kills three times more, taking a life every hour of every day.
