Learn all about Re-Timer

New Venture Insitute will host a Free Feed Your Brain Session titled  Re-Timer, Change Your Sleep Pattern To Suit Your Lifestyle on Friday, July 3.

What do an Olympic aerial skier, a hip hop artist and recently retired formula one driver all have in common? They all use an Australian light therapy device to re-set their circadian clocks.

Flinders University sleep psychologist Professor Leon Lack has spent 25 years researching the ability of light to adjust the circadian rhythm or 24-hour sleep-wake cycle. This research primarily focused on the extension of this research to the treatment of those with certain forms of insomnia.

In 2010 Flinders launched a joint venture company, Re-Timer, to bring his light therapy device out of the lab to the market. Their client list now includes the US Department of Defence as well as some of Australia’s most prominent businesses including an airline and a mining company. The company exports 70 per cent of production offshore from its Adelaide-based clean room facility.
