Social Sciences South refurbishment

As part of the University’s 10 year investment in capital infrastructure works at the nearly 50-year old Bedford Park campus, a multi-million dollar refurbishment of Social Sciences South is under way.

Expected for completion in early 2016, the refurbishment will include enhancement, improvement and renewal of the Social Sciences South building and its surrounds, including:

  • improving staff and student amenities
  • addressing general accessibility – lift, stairwells, entrances, reception/waiting areas, corridors and external walkways
  • improving major entryways
  • refurbishing offices and teaching spaces
  • improvement of environmental service.

The Social Sciences South refurbishment demonstrates the University’s ongoing commitment to work health and safety, disability access, and improving staff and student amenities.

Although there will be some temporary inconvenience due to relocations and room closures, the end result will be a fresh and welcoming space which better meets the needs of students and staff.
