Dr Alice Gorman takes us to space

AliceSaturn V rockets, Sputnik, space junk and the street plan of Woomera – they’re all part of the fascinating world of space archaeology.

The next in the Investigators Lecture series will be given by Dr Alice Gorman, an internationally recognised leader in the field. Her research on space exploration has been featured in National Geographic, New Scientist, Financial Review and Archaeology magazine. Alice is a senior lecturer in Archaeology at Flinders , a faculty member of the International Space University’s Adelaide Program and a member of the Space Industry Association of Australia’s Executive Council.

Dr  Gorman will discuss this emerging field where for a space archaeologist, the physical traces of human activities beyond planet Earth are a record as rich and fascinating as the sites of early human activity on earth.

The lecture will be held at Flinders University Victoria Square on Wednesday, 21 October from 5.30pm.
