Flinders in the news

MubarakDr Mubarak Rahamathulla’s commentary on anxiety in teenagers stemming from social media use was broadcast on ABC television news and subsequently has been covered by numerous media outlets.

Professor John Long’s research on the depletion of trace elements as a possible cause of mass extinction events was the subject of an article in the Conversation, and received wide national and international media coverage.

An article by archaeologists Professor Claire Smith and Associate Professor Heather Burke published on the research sharing and social networking site Academia was among the site’s most read this month, and put Professor Smith in the top one per cent of the site’s published authors. The site is currently trialling a new feature called Sessions, which allows academics to discuss their journal papers prior to publication.
