Intellectual Property for start-ups

The NVI will present IP for Startups on Wednesday, 20 January 2016 from 10am to noon.

Are you about to launch a startup? Do you need to protect your time and financial investment? Will you need to raise funding? Your intellectual property may be the most valuable asset you generate to begin with. Startups with a good understanding of the risks and returns of IP are often the most successful in attracting further funding.

This IP for Startups workshop will help you:

– Understand how to protect your intellectual property through business model innovation and intellectual property right protection
– Identify where you may be risking infringement of other party’s rights.
– Understand how to navigate standard licensing regimes to avoid getting sued
– Ability to search other resources and databases and piggyback on past innovations while avoiding getting sued.

What you get:
– A hands on workshop session where you will be guided through the issues that pertain to your idea, or our best practice case studies.
– A guided tour through the patent and trademark registration processes, recorded for you to view beforehand or afterwards, as often or little as you like.

Presented by Adele Flego, whose knowledge and experience as an IP professional includes years in practice at South Australia’s top Patent and Trademark Attorney practices.
