Process to terminate staff access to IT system

Staff are reminded that access to IT Services for staff (continuing, fixed-term and casual) and those with a formal affiliation with the University will end at close of business on the last day of employment with the University.

To assist in minimising any impact of this change, a staff member (and her/his supervisor) will be sent a reminder 21, 10 and five days prior to the last day of employment to enable an out-of-office notification to be set up to inform senders that the staff member is no longer working at Flinders University. ITS provides information on Accessing University IT Services and also instructions on setting up an out-of-office notification on the ITS website.

Staff are also reminded that University email is a business record and is retained to meet State Records’ retention requirements. Whilst some personal email usage is permitted, all email content remains the property of the University.
