Flinders alumni join State Cabinet

ParliamentTwo Flinders alumni have joined two other graduates who already hold Cabinet posts, as a result of the latest State Labor Government front bench reshuffle.

Ms Katrine Hildyard, the Member for Reynell, will become Assistant Minister to the Premier with additional responsibility for Status of Women. Ms Hildyard graduated with a BA from Flinders in 1995, and is a former member of University Council.

Mr Chris Picton, Member for Kaurna, will become the Assisting Minister to the Treasurer. He holds Law and Arts degrees (2008) from Flinders.

Flinders graduates Dr Susan Close and Ms Zoe Bettison will continue in their roles as ministers. In addition to her responsibility for Education and Child Development, Dr Close has taken charge of Higher Education and Skills. Ms Bettison has added responsibility for the Status of Women to her portfolio of Communities and Social Inclusion, Social Housing, Ageing, Multicultural Affairs, Youth and Volunteers.
