Education expert questions segregation at TedXAdelaide

tedxadelaideFlinders lecturer Peter Walker will be speaking at TedXAdelaide: Metamorphosis on Thursday 20 October.

Mr Walker will be sharing some of his research on segregation of students with autism as part of the Research in Special Education (RISE) team at Flinders.

As South Australia recently opened its very first school specifically for students with autism, Peter Walker wants people to consider whether segregating environments such as these will be successful in the long run. Pulling from his personal extensive experience in the education field, Mr Walker presents the case for transforming the education system from a focus on difference and deficit, to one of inclusion and mutual benefit.
