How confusion could be a fundamental part of learning

The Science of Learning seminar of 2016 will take place on Wednesday 30 November at the SILC building.

The speaker will be Dr Jason Lodge from the University of Melbourne, who will discuss research suggesting that experiencing confusion is often an important and necessary part of the learning process.

The research suggests a complex relationship between confidence, understanding and prior knowledge that influences the strategies students use across various learning environments.

Dr Lodge will then discuss the importance of understanding subjective states such as confusion for the development of adaptive and personalised learning in digital environments.
