Young Kenyan of the Year

Dr Glory Gatwiri from the School of Social and Policy Studies has been named South Australia’s “Young Kenyan of the Year”.

The title recognises outstanding effort in community engagement and mentorship for young Africans in Australia and is run by the Kenya Association of South Australia.

Dr Gatwiri is a former PhD student at Flinders University and winner of the 2015 Three-Minute-Thesis-Competition.

The award ceremony was attended by Senator Nick Xenophon and Senator Lucy Gichuhi.

Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Zoe Bettison MP, presented Dr Gatwiri with her award.
