Groundwater experts gather in Sydney

Flinders University has joined forces with IAH Australia to deliver the 2017 Australasian Groundwater Conference in Sydney, the premier forum for groundwater science.

More than 300 international delegates attended the conference to discuss the pressing environmental issues that affect groundwater in Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and internationally.

The conference plays an important role in building a strong scientific understanding of groundwater so that groundwater resources can be managed sustainably and so that nations of the Asia-Pacific can realise their full economic potential.

Flinders Professor of Groundwater Science and Director National Centre Groundwater Research and Training, Craig Simmons, delivered a plenary session on the ‘Grand Challenges for Groundwater’.

More information about the Australasian Groundwater Conference 2017 can be found on the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training website and the website of the Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, Luke Hartsuyker.
