A modern look at Indonesia – Syariah, soapies and selfies

Flinders University’s Jembatan Initiative is proud to present a free showcase of modern Indonesia for senior secondary school students on 27 September 2017 at 10.30am.

Indonesia is changing rapidly and yet many Australians know little about our nearest Asian neighbour.

Indonesia is a young and vibrant democracy that has experienced dramatic change since independence in 1945.

It is continuing to develop into one of the world’s largest economies, with major environmental, political and social changes and challenges.

Flinders students who have studied issues and trends in Indonesia will present a Q&A session with the audience and present a short film about Indonesia that they have created, produced and directed themselves.

This special event is suitable for senior secondary students (years 10, 11 and 12).

Numbers are limited so attendees are asked to RSVP by Friday 25 August to jembatan@flinders.edu.au.

The event will run from 10.30am-1.00pm at Flinders at Victoria Square on Level 10 (rooms 10.1-10.2-10.3).

Event enquiries should be directed to Georgia Fitton in the International Centre at Georgie.Fitton@flinders.edu.au, phone (08) 8201 5467 / 0414 190 096.
