Changing world of campus retail

Changes to campus retail will be taking place over the next several weeks as part of Flinders’ commitment to providing improved services and customer choice to staff and students.

The stores listed below will be undergoing changes to their products and services:

Bon Voyage

  • Expanded food range available from 18 September 2017.
Campus Store

  • Closed from 2.00pm on 15 September 2017.
  • Metrotickets will be available for purchase at the Post Office and will be able to be recharged at the Library.
  • Flinders University merchandise and memorabilia, lab coats, lab glasses and lab books will be available at the Co-op.
  • Milk and newspapers for the University, previously handled by the Campus Store, will now be coordinated by the Buildings and Property Division.
  • In Semester 1, 2018 an exciting new shop will open at the former Campus Store location.
Coffee Cart

  • Under new management from 18 September 2017.
  • Closing early at 2.00pm on 15 September 2017.
Decafe

  • Under new management from 18 September 2017.
  • Closing early at 2.00pm on 15 September 2017.
McHughs

  • Closing on 7 September 2017.
  • From 8 September 2017 a food and coffee truck will be open just north of the Earth Sciences Building. Hours will be Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.00pm.
  • From early October 2017, McHughs will be available to use as a quiet study space with hot drink and food vending machines. Hours will be Monday-Friday, 7.00am-7.00pm.
One Byte

  • Closing on 8 September 2017.
  • In early October 2017, One Byte will become a small kitchenette with a hot drink vending machine.
  • Vending machines will remain nearby in the foyer area.
Subway

  • Under new management from 18 September 2017.
Wholefoods

  • Closed from 2.00pm on 15 September 2017.
  • An exciting new shop will be opening at this location in October 2017.
  • More information will be available soon.

The University’s vending machines will also be updated over the coming months to provide an improved range of products.

The changes above build on the feedback from Flinders students and are intended to help to make the Student Hub and Plaza a dynamic and vibrant space.
