Real and digital worlds collide at Hybrid World

Want to see what the future holds?

You don’t have to be a digital expert to find something that ‘floats your boat’ in the world of interactive technology at Hybrid World Adelaide.

Flinders University is an educational partner in this new and original five-day event which will explore how the real and the digital worlds are intertwined.

The program will feature a range of public events for people of all ages and levels of digital knowledge.

It will also include an industry conference and a hands-on lab to develop selected tech projects.

Flinders University will be hosting three items on the Hybrid World program:

  • Art demonstration, 5 October, 2.00pm-3.00pm – a painter from CDW Studios will create a scene from nothing within an hour.
  • ‘Building a Game World’, 5 October, 3.30pm-5.30pm – Shane Bevin from Digital Media will build a space in Unity and populate it and export it for various platforms.
  • Crash Course in Design Thinking, 6 October, 2.00pm-5.00pm – staff from Flinders New Venture Institute will show participants how to apply the design thinking approach developed at Stanford and develop a hybrid-world solution to an ‘old world’ problem.

Hybrid World Adelaide runs from 4-8 October 2017 at the Tonsley Innovation Precinct.

It presents an exciting opportunity for South Australians to interact with some of the best digital thinkers, speakers, makers and performers from around the world.

The full program can be viewed on the Hybrid World Adelaide website.
