‘Swallowing’ study seeks participants

Researchers at Flinders Medical Centre are looking for healthy adults to participate in a new research study on swallowing function.

Individuals aged between 18-79 years with no reflux disease, hypertension or swallowing difficulties are invited to participate.

Participation involves two, one-hour appointments in which swallowing function will be measured to establish normal values for a new swallow assessment method.

Those who agree to be a part of the study will be compensated for their time with a $100 honorarium per appointment (up to a total of $200).

Refreshments will be provided after each visit.

This study has been approved by the Southern Adelaide Clinical Human Research Ethics Committee.

For further information or to sign-up, staff are advised to contact Lara Ferris on 8204 7042 or via ferr0103@flinders.edu.au.
