Fincantieri opens world of opportunity for Samantha

The relationship forged between shipbuilder Fincantieri and Flinders University has proved a boon for third year commerce/business student Samantha Oxford (pictured), who has commenced a three-month internship at Fincantieri Australia.

This internship follows a previous internship that Samantha completed at Fincantieri in Trieste, Italy, alongside Fincantieri’s procurement support team.

Samantha is now working in Adelaide with Silvia Penna, the supply chain manager for Fincantieri Australia, to create a future network for Australian industry, ranging from manufacturing to onboarding of technical services (such as IT or testing facilities for shock testing), along with after sales services.

Samantha says she is thrilled to receive this opportunity from Fincantieri, which will conclude in May 2018.

Fincantieri  is one of three shipbuilders short-listed to bid for the $35 billion frigate project for the Australian Navy.
