We’re moving to Optus

With the University’s existing telecommunications contract up for renewal, Information and Digital Services (IDS) has taken the opportunity to complete an open tender, carefully considering the cost and quality of services provided by several providers.

Following the completion of the tender process, IDS can now announce that Flinders has signed a contract with telecommunications provider, Optus. The new contract with Optus will cover all University landlines and mobile services.

Switching service providers to Optus will save a significant amount of money, allowing the University to focus its budget on other programs of work that will best support it in achieving its 2025 Agenda vision.

The new contract introduces a fixed monthly fee for mobile services, with unlimited calls and text, and increased data allowances.

Migration of fixed landlines to Optus will happen in the background and staff will not be required to do anything.  Staff who have a registered mobile service through Flinders will have received an email from Mark Gregory – any  mobile service users who did not receive an email are asked to please contact Aidan Pirakis.

Further details about the migration of mobile services will be published in the coming weeks.
