A splash of jazz at the Tav

Semester two Lunchtime Concerts kick-off on 8 August, with The Keith Conlon Jazz Quartet set to warm up a wintry Wednesday through a performance of smooth and swinging hits.

The event will feature tunes from a 2016 CD release, Body and Soul, which was produced by jazz pianist Kerin Bailey, who is the group’s musical director and also a teacher, composer and publisher.

Other members of the group include:

  • double bass player, Declan Horan, who recently graduated from the Elder Conservatorium and quickly established himself as one of Adelaide’s most in-demand bass players
  • Bob Jeffrey on reeds – revered for his improvisation skills and unique tone
  • quartet leader Keith Conlon, who has been playing drums on the Adelaide jazz scene since university

The performance will take place in the Flinders Tavern at 12:30pm; gold coin donation is appreciated.

It leads a stellar program for the second half of 2018 – including Helen Ayres and Anna Goldsworthy next week performing compositions for the violin and piano.
