History Research Seminar
Associate Professor Richard Scully, University of New England is presenting on ‘Eminent Victorian Cartoonists – Reflections and Future Directions’. Professor Scully will share the background on the first in depth study of the Victorian form of the political cartoon told through the life stories of exponents.

2018 Elliott Johnston Memorial Lecture
The annual seminar will feature Professor Miriam Jorgensen, Research Director at University of Arizona Native Nations Institute, presenting on ‘American exceptionalism or Australian opportunity? An examination of Indigenous nation building’. These seminars are designed to bring together members of the legal and Indigenous community to explore themes related to Indigenous persons.

Celebrating 30 Years of Palaeontology at Flinders
The inaugural Wells Palaeontology Lecture will feature Professor Rod Wells, College of Science & Engineering presenting on ‘Down the Rabbit Hole: Caves and Deserts as Windows onto a Time before History’. Professor Wells will share his passion for vertebrate palaeontology, the challenges and the excitement of exploration – and the pleasure derived from reading publications of those who came before.
