This week’s events include an arts writing forum tomorrow at Bedford Park and a social transformation lecture this Thursday, delivered by Professor Neil Brewer.

Art in Translation – current perspectives on arts writing

Staff are invited to join the Flinders University Art Museum for a free public forum bringing together diverse perspectives to discuss the current state of writing in contemporary art practice.

Each speaker will reflect on their experiences, projects and practices to explore the role of arts writing today; the challenges and opportunities that exist in the sector; and the shifting climate around publication and arts criticism.

This event is presented in collaboration with Country Arts SA.

Social Transformation lecture

Flinders Psychology Professor Neil Brewer will be delivering a public lecture on Delivering Justice for the Accused: A Radical Transformation of Police Line-Ups. This examination of a pressing social transformation issue about overhauling police line-ups and eye witness identification is expected to mostly attract an audience of police and government experts involved with crime, but is open to all staff, students and the general public.

This is the first of the Social Transformation lecture series run by Flinders’ College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. This series will profile lead researchers who specialise in areas of social transformation that will affect researchers, policymakers and the general public.
