Dementia expert talks risk reduction

Global authority on dementia epidemiology, Professor Kaarin Anstey, is visiting Flinders and will present an overview of intervention research targeting dementia prevention, including key messages for use in clinical practice.

Professor Anstey is Director of the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute, and Senior Principal Research Scientist at NeuRA with a research focus on the causes, consequences and prevention of cognitive ageing, dementia, and common mental disorders.

She is the Chair of the International Research Network on Dementia Prevention, and a member of the Governance Committee of the Global Council on Brain Health and winner of the Australian Psychological Society Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award in 2018, and the E.W. Busse Award from the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
