Med students need your expertise

Assistance from academics across the University is sought to help students with the Advanced Studies component of their Medicine Doctorate.

The Advanced Studies research theme, compulsory across all four years of the program, requires medicine students to undertake supervised research activities or postgraduate coursework.

Projects can relate to any of the broader aspects of health including the human body, medicine, psychology, nursing, midwifery, medical devices, physical sciences and more.

Staff can assist by either offering a research project or volunteering to be a research supervisor within a particular research interest.

Research supervisors need to:

  • provide guidance on the appropriate level of literature critique, data collection and analysis to adopt for the research project.
  • maintain regular face-to-face contact with the student throughout the project
  • monitor student progress and provide progress reports
  • expect the student to present findings in a peer-reviewed setting and encourage them to publish research outcomes

To request an application form to submit a research project, or register to be included as a potential research supervisor, please email md.advancedstudies@flinders.edu.au.

Applications close on 1 June 2019.
