Staff are invited to receive a free ‘essential health check’ at Flinders University’s Adelaide campuses this month, thanks to BUPA.
Regular health checks provide are a simple way to get a snapshot of your health. At the 10-minute appointments a registered nurse will look at key indicators of overall health including:
- blood pressure
- total cholesterol
- blood glucose
- modifiable lifestyle risk factors
Fasting is not required. The screening process involves a simple finger prick with two droplets of blood collected. Staff are asked to inform the nurse if they feel light-headed at any stage, or have a history of fainting. People who are pregnant or have a pacemaker must also inform the nurse, as some components of the appraisal will be impacted.
Various dates are available from 14 June to 28 June 2019, between the hours of 9.30am to 4.30pm. Find out more and book online.
Appointments can be made for Bedford Park (Registry), Flinders Medical Centre, Tonsley and Sturt locations.
