SafeWork SA awards open

The annual Augusta Zadow Awards fund practical solutions or research that improves safety for women or young workers in South Australia, with a pool of $20,000 available to further projects.

Dr Sara Howard was successful in last year’s awards, receiving $15,000 to progress her project that will use ‘cobots’ – collaborative robots – to learn how technology and safety can intersect to improve conditions for young workers.

Her project involves working with VET students to assess the implications of cobots and safety and will explore whether TAFE modules need to be tailored to provide more support in transitioning young people to workplaces of the future.

Award proposals must be no longer than 1500 words and provide details about the project, including who it will benefit and how, where it will be undertaken, key milestones, costs and referees.

Applications for the awards opened in mid-June and close on Monday 19 August 2019. Find out more.
