NAIDOC Week happenings

NAIDOC Week celebrations are being held this week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

An inclusive occasion for all, NAIDOC Week is is celebrated by Australians from all walks of life, with a range of opportunities to participate in activities and support local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This year’s theme acknowledges the desire of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for a greater role in decision-making in Australia –  Voice. Treaty. Truth. Lets work together for a shared future.

Events in South Australia include:

  • Cultural activities for children at Monarto and Adelaide zoos
  • Workshops and activities at the Aldinga Library
  • Weaving Workshop, carving, Raak demonstration at Tandanya
  • Award-winning didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton and the Australian String Quartet at the Space Theatre
