The broader impacts of stress

A free public event from the University’s social equity experts will share how ongoing stress affects mental health and wellbeing, with a focus on toxic stress in children, the role of urban planning and environmental policy, and chronic stress in a societal context.

Chronic stress is a key pathway to negative physical or mental impacts. It is also a social equity issue, because exposure to stressors is far more frequent among people who are experiencing higher socioeconomic disadvantage.

This event from the Southgate Institute for Health, Society and Equity Policy Club will feature three speakers discussing how chronic stress influences adults’ and children’s mental health and wellbeing, and what policy responses are needed.

When: 5:15pm to 6:30pm Tuesday 11 February 2020 (followed by refreshments and nibbles)
Where: Flinders Victoria Square, Level 2 Room 2.1
RSVP: enquiries.southgateinstitute@flinders.edu.au
