The VC and me

Feedback from graduates disappointed at missing their formal graduation ceremony has inspired a creative way of marking the occasion – virtual photos with the VC.

As an antidote to challenges of this semester, Flinders is delivering a special graduation memory to graduates – they’re being encouraged to submit their favourite or fun photos of themselves via Facebook, and the University’s photoshop whiz-kids will do their magic and add in the Vice-Chancellor.

In an email to graduates Callista Thillou, Executive Director, Alumni & Advancement said “We really want to give the VC a workout, so we want your most creative, quirky (but family-friendly) photos. We’ll Photoshop as many as we can, in as many fun ways as we can imagine, then release them for you to share with the world!”

The technical wizardry will take place this Thursday 30 April from 12-2.30pm, when Professor Stirling will be locked in a room with a photographer, a photoshop team and one goal… to put him in as many photos as possible in two and a half hours!

The virtual snaps are the brainchild of OCME staff member Terry Webb, who thought it would be a great way to congratulate graduates until such time as the University can celebrate in a formal manner when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

We’ll be sharing some of the images through Flinders in Touch, and keep an eye on the University’s Facebook page.
