Submissions are now open for the Engagement Australia Excellence Awards 2020, which identify and celebrate the most exciting and high-impact engagement activities undertaken by Australian universities.

This new Excellence Award program replaces the former BHERT Awards for Higher Education collaboration in Australia. The Business and Higher Education Round Table (BHERT) established these awards in the late 1990s. Winners over the past 22 years have been outstanding nation-building initiatives, demonstrating far-reaching impact and innovation, in all sectors and aspects of the Australian economy and community.

The Engagement Australia Excellence Awards will continue BHERT’s focus on collaboration, and build on the reputation established by BHERT for recognition of innovation and excellence.

The seven award categories recognise excellence in Community Engagement, Closing the Gap, Industry Engagement, Research Impact, Student Engagement, Alumni Engagement and Outstanding Leadership.

Flinders University has many outstanding engagement initiatives that are making a difference across all categories. Staff who are part of one, or know of others worthy of national recognition, are encouraged to nominate.
