Have your say to improve our services

Flinders University’s 2020 Improving Flinders Services Survey will be distributed to all staff tomorrow, Wednesday 16 September, to support the continual improvement of services across the University.

Last year’s services survey collected 1,049 responses. Data collected through the survey was shared with teams across the University to help them improve the services they offer. It also informed a range of improvement projects, with 20 high-impact service improvement priority projects identified and actioned over 2019 and 2020.

Mark Gregory, Vice-President (Corporate Services) says: “The first survey proved to be extremely valuable. We expect this second survey to be even more useful because it will help us understand how the improvements already made have benefited our community, what needs more work, and what else needs attention.

“The input from academic staff is especially important to understand how services are impacting education and research, so we ask everyone to please keep an eye on your inbox and have your say.”

Taicea Agnew, Director College Services in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, believes the survey to be a valuable and rich data source for colleges and portfolios to help focus areas of attention across services, systems and processes.

“Our college used the data from the previous exercise to help identify key areas of improvement to provide a greater service to our staff and students, and we definitely welcome further consultation and feedback on what other areas of improvement we can help facilitate and provide.  We value the feedback and are committed to making improvements wherever possible.” Mrs Agnew says.

The survey will remain open until Wednesday, September 30, and is expected to take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete.

As with the 2019 survey, responses will be anonymous with all identifiers removed from comment fields.

Survey responses will be shared with service teams and colleges in detail, and the broader University results will be posted on the staff website.
