Scholarship remembers Dr Lesley Shorne

This year marks 10 years since the passing of women’s health and social justice advocate and graduate, Dr Lesley Shorne (BA ’82, BMBS ’84). Her commitment to advancing women in the medical field and the wider community continues through the recipients of the Dr Lesley Shorne Memorial Scholarship.

This year’s scholarship was awarded to second year Doctor of Medicine student, Vanshika Sinh who says, “Advocating for the rights of people within minority communities, particularly women, is something I am very passionate about and is the reason I applied for medical school”.
