Rising to the challenges of World Cancer Day

A keen group of FHMRI Cancer researchers, oncologists, cancer consumers, survivors and friends met just before sunrise on Thursday February 4 to commemorate World Cancer Day. Using the gathering as an opportunity to reflect on a commitment to the future without cancer, the group participated in a 30-minute, stand-up yoga session led by Medical Oncologist Dr Rahul Solanki.

World Cancer Day is an opportunity to reflect on everyone’s personal and professional commitment to creating a world free from cancer, and the solidarity of our community of cancer patients, carers, clinicians and researchers.

The success of this early morning event has prompted the organisers to pencil in another dawn yoga and contemplation session for World Cancer Day next year – so pencil in an early start for 4 February 2022.
