Fearless assessment of SA infrastructure

Questions about reforming public transport, growth in the Adelaide Hills and the South Road upgrade will be the focus for the next Fearless Conversation, being held on Wednesday 22 September.

Professor Rocco Zito, Flinders University Professor in Civil Engineering, will be joined by Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure chief executive Tony Braxton-Smith and Property Council SA executive director Daniel Gannon for the roundtable discussion.

Hosted by radio broadcaster and Sunday Mail columnist Matthew Abraham, the panel will also focus on social infrastructure as the key to ensure South Australia is well-positioned to re-emerge from COVID-19 disruptions. They will also discuss job creation and what needs to be done to maintain Adelaide’s reputation as Australia’s most liveable city.

Property Council SA executive director Daniel Gannon says it is important to reflect and build on past successes when we plan for the future.

“Three years ago, South Australia played host to Land Forces, the biggest exhibition our state ever held,” Mr Gannon says. “The event resulted in 25,000 bed nights and injected $34 million into the state’s economy. Hotels, restaurants, taxi drivers and tourism operators all benefited.”

Streamed live every Wednesday from 10.30am, the Fearless Conversations encourage the community to join a range of discussions relevant to the future of South Australia. Coming subjects that will be dissected by experts will include the space industry, entrepreneurship, education, energy and mining and creative industries.
