Help shape rural and remote activities

Flinders University’s many sites are connected as the Australian Central Corridor, and staff are being encouraged to join sub-groups that will help steer its future.

The Australian Central Corridor comprises staff, students, infrastructure and partnerships in multiple locations across South Australia, Central Australia and the Top End, and is pivotal to Flinders University’s successful delivery of academic programs, workforce development and research that impacts some of the most vibrant communities in Australia.

To ensure progress in activities that will provide strategic benefit to rural and remote activities across the University, the Senior Executive Team (SET) has established a University-wide Rural and Remote Working Group.

Three sub-groups have been already been established to help progress the aims of the Working Group – Education, chaired by Professor Chris Brebner; Research, chaired by Professor Robyn Aitken; and Infrastructure, chaired by Dr Shane Jennings.

These sub-groups will each work on one or two achievable short-term projects, and consider opportunities for longer-term planning over the next 1-to-5 years. The Working Group will report to SET regularly.

Staff from across the University are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) if they wish to join a sub-group and contribute. Interested staff should email cmph.ruralandremote@flinders.edu.au by Friday 24 September with a short paragraph outlining their interest in joining a sub-group.
