Campus updates

Please be aware of upcoming works as we enhance and maintain the spaces across our campuses.

Works on Sports Road footpath

Staged works will be undertaken to the footpath along the northern side of Sports Road, adjacent to car park 21, in the coming weeks.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained through Sports Drive, however traffic is likely to be  restricted to one lane on Sports Road heading east of the roundabout. Traffic management will be in place while work is occurring on site. Access to car park 21 will be maintained but may be reduced to one lane at times.

Where possible, please consider using alternative nearby car parks while this work is undertaken. We will aim to minimise disruption during peak times as much as possible.

Reception upgrade in Student Centre

Construction works for a new reception desk in the Health, Counselling and Disability Service (Student Centre Level 3) will start on Monday 8 November. This will involve removing the existing reception desk and installing a new, easily accessible counter.

The new space will provide staff and students with a welcoming and secure entry point to the reception area and Health Clinic, ensuring that staff have a direct line of sight to the waiting room.

We expect minimal disruption within the Health Clinic, as services will remain open. People working in or visiting the area may notice some debris, dust or vibration during works, however this should be minor. We have planned for any noisy works to take place outside of core business hours, however there may be some intermittent noise from the site.

Disability space in Central Library

We are about to commence works on a new dedicated disability space in room 155 of the library from next Monday 8 November. We expect that works will be completed in mid-November.

The changes will include widening the door to meet accessibility standards, installation of swipe card access, painting and the introduction of new desks, whiteboard, chairs and sofas.

You may notice some minor noise associated with drilling, and removing and installing doors, however we anticipate this will happen earlier in the day to minimise disruption. We will be sending out communications to those in the area who may be affected.
