Big biz-ed discounts for staff

Feeling fearless? Flinders University staff and alumni are invited to take advantage of special discounts on offer to study the revamped Master of Business Administration (MBA) – along with the University’s graduate certificate and diploma of business this year.

In conjunction with the usual staff professional development fund of $3,500, Flinders University staff can apply for a 30% course discount for the new MBA courses. Terms and conditions apply.

Separately, the University is also offering a 20% discount to all eligible alumni living in Australia to align with the current incentive offered to Flinders University international alumni, who are eligible for a range of other scholarships.

“We are excited to extend the scholarship opportunities to our valued staff and high-achieving alumni – to encourage more people to access the high-quality subjects and courses available in Flinders University’s Business College,” says Professor Romy Lawson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students).

The new MBA at Flinders University focuses on learning flexibility and can be completed part-time, online or in person, and for the MBA Future Business in just 12 months.

Professor Michael Gilding, Vice-President and Executive Dean of the College of Business, Government and Law, says an MBA qualification, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate are all valuable assets for any stage of a professional staff member, or academic’s or researcher’s career.

“Whether it’s for career, leadership or salary growth goals, the topics were completely redesigned in 2021, are led by industry experts, and will give you leadership and tech-first skills of the future, along with new connections to get where you want to go,” says Professor Gilding.

MBA Director Carla Dias Wadewitz says the fast track or extended Flinders MBA both provide a comprehensive education in business, marketing, financial management, leadership, people management and economics – with bonus extras to form key industry networks.

“As part of your MBA, you’ll have access to specialised industry entrepreneurial programs like the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program or the Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program,” she says.

“The MBA Future Business also makes you eligible for the Defence Entrepreneurship Program, where you can address real national security and intelligence challenges.”
