Graduation ceremonies are significant and memorable occasions for everyone within the Flinders community – not only for graduating students, family and friends, but also staff. Together, they can all celebrate the culmination of many years of hope, aspiration and hard work, and students greatly value seeing the familiar faces of their teachers, mentors, advisors and supervisors to share their celebrations at the graduation events.
This is why all University staff are encouraged to consider becoming involved in the coming graduation ceremonies from Monday May 9 to Thursday May 12 – either as an MC or to attend as a guest, while academic staff are invited to participate in the Academic Procession.
Master of Ceremonies: The MC role is vital to setting the mood for graduation ceremonies and keeping the event to run on time. If you are a good public speaker and can put people at ease with your communication skills, please register your interest in the MC role here by Friday 22 April 2022.
Want to participate in the Academic procession?
The Academic procession marches in academic dress to commence the ceremony, led by the Chancellor, and remains on stage for the duration of the ceremony. If you are interested in participating, register here by midnight, Monday 2 May 2022. The registration process includes academic dress hire.
