Gain an insight into SA with new series

MTPConnect’s SA Insights Series – presented by the Adelaide Intermediary Program – will feature Allison Nikula, Founder and CEO of CareApp, talking with Innovation and Translation Intermediary Dana Bell in an intimate interview event on Thursday 8 September.

Allison Nikula was inspired to create CareApp when her grandparents required extra support but found existing systems to be lacking. Allison’s family wanted to be active contributors to their loved ones’ care, but found that communication was fragmented and visibility about their care and wellbeing was poor.

Ms Nikula, who was leading a team of more than 440 community care workers at the time, also saw that her personal experience within this frustrating system was not unique, so she created CareApp to propel positive change.

Reuben Jacob, CEO of Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA), will also  talk about his organisation’s $34 million, three-year Australian Government initiative to develop the capability of Australia’s aged care workforce and translate research and innovation in real-world practice.
