Celebrating success

Professor Murray Drummond joins a gamechanging new taskforce, while other successes include a Presidential award for a groundwater expert and Flinders grads take to the sea in new docuseries.

Gamechanging new taskforce

Professor Murray Drummond

Professor Murray Drummond has been appointed to the State Government’s new Women in Sport taskforce, working to raise the profile and participation levels of girls and women in sport and to address inequality that inhibits girls and women from actively and equally participating in the sport they love.

The taskforce was established after Flinders University research found South Australian girls are likely to quit sport from Years 10 to 12, as study and work are prioritised over sporting commitments.

Grads take to the sea in new docuseries

Flinders graduates Dr Deb Shefi and Dr Ross Anderson join ocean adventurers as they dive deep to find – and bring to life – some of the world’s most epic shipwreck stories in a new Disney+ series. A locally commissioned series, Shipwreck Hunters Australia takes viewers on an epic expedition from the comfort of their living rooms and premiered on the streaming channel last week.
