Workshop encourages knowledge exchange

Workforce challenges facing current and future generations was the topic of an industry and academic exchange workshop held recently at Flinders University’s Tonsley campus.

The teaching leadership team from the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work met with industry and government representatives to investigate how further collaboration could help solve pressing workforce issues that currently face industry.

The workshop was attended by 20 CEPSW teaching leaders, along with 20 industry representatives from workforce planning, human resources, and practitioner backgrounds from the following organisations:

  • Autism SA
  • Baptist Care
  • Department for Correctional Services
  • Department for Education
  • Department of Human Services
  • The Association for Independent Schools
  • City of Marion
  • City of Holdfast Bay
  • City of Onkaparinga
  • SA Health
  • Volleyball SA
  • Women’s and Children’s Health Network, SA Health

Findings from the workshop are being collated and will soon be shared with attendees to help seed future industry engagement opportunities.

This session was a collaboration between CEPSW, Careers and Employability, Work Integrated Learning and Flinders’ New Venture Institute.
