Plug into our new digital health course

A Graduate Certificate in Digital Health Management at Flinders University is now open to medical and allied health professionals and academics.

One of the College of Business, Government and Law’s newest offerings, the postgraduate certificate is a flexible, one-year part-time course for healthcare leaders and health workers to transition and upgrade their skills for the digital and virtual world.

“Health leaders need human-centric skills and competencies to manage future workforce and implement digital transformation in the workplace,” says Healthcare Administration Programs Director Associate Professor Angie Shafei, who has over 25 years’ experience in industry and academia focused on health and aged care.

“This course can be your way to shape the future of healthcare with innovative digital health solutions and strategies.”

Senior lecturer Mark Brommeyer, who has more than 30 years’ experience in digital health, explains that the Flinders Graduate Certificate in Digital Health Management offers tech-first skills in leadership and management in a health context.

“If you have health leadership, career growth or digital upskilling goals, Flinders’ program will assess and implement virtual care models and emerging digital health technologies with a curriculum co-created with industry,” he says.

“This course will provide you with the skills to introduce and manage digital strategies in health care organisations.”

The course has Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points approved for key topics by both the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and the Australasian College of Health Service Management, and is delivered by hybrid and interactive learning with “real-time” peers, industry experts and also colleagues for networking.

Hybrid-mode means participants can attend the classes and interactions live in Adelaide or synchronously via videoconferencing on the face-to-face days.

The core topics are: Digital Health, including artificial intelligence, big data and cybersecurity; Virtual Health, Innovation and Co-Design, Health Informatics and Strategic Leadership and Management in Health and Aged Care.

The Graduate Certificate provides a pathway into Flinders University’s Master of Health Administration.
