Chancellor Stephen Gerlach has expressed Flinders University’s deepest condolences to his predecessor Sir Eric Neal upon the passing of his wife, Lady Thelma Joan Neal AM, known by all as Lady Joan.

Sir Eric, an engineer, businessman and former Governor of South Australia, served as Flinders University’s fifth Chancellor from 2002 to 2010. He met his future wife Lady Joan in 1948, and married in 1950, enjoying 75 years together.

Lady Joan’s funeral service will be held at 2pm tomorrow and can be viewed via livestream at berryfunerals.com.au.
