Flinders Career Festival earns glowing praise

Almost 1,000 Flinders University students interacted with some of South Australia’s leading employers at the 2023 Flinders Career Festival, held in the Student Hub at Bedford Park on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 March.

The two-day event presented more than 60 exhibitors, who explained a range of employment programs, from graduate jobs to internships and vacation programs. Day one of the Festival featured business, government and corporate services, while day two had a focus on careers in STEM.

Industry representatives offered tips and tricks on how to write the perfect resume and perform during a job interview, while students could also have a new headshot taken at the LinkedIn photobooth.

A virtual careers desk was monitored by a Career Development Consultant who provided advice and assistance to any queries.

The Careers Festival aimed to connect Flinders students with industry and potential career paths – and 94% of students reported that they made a successful connection during the event.

Employers were also impressed and praised the event, organisers and Flinders students. All industry representatives that attended said they would recommend the Flinders Career Festival to other organisations, and recognised its value in connecting with Flinders students.
