Researchers ride for a cure

Recently, College of Medicine and Public Health researchers took part in the annual Tour de Cure SA Discovery tour, which raised more than $500,000 for projects funded through Flinders Foundation and UniSA to support people living with cancer.

The team from Flinders – Professor Briony Forbes, Dr Ashley Hopkins, Professor Christos Karapetis, Associate Professor Andrew Rowland and Dr Zivile Useckaite – were among 96 riders who took part in the three day event, riding more than 350km and visiting schools throughout the Barossa Valley to promote the “Be Fit, Be Healthy, be Happy” campaign.

Tour de Cure is a fantastic opportunity to build networks with consumers and the community, build comradery and give back to fabulous community groups and charities including Flinders Foundation.
