Flinders University teams plunge for vital research

Teams from across Flinders University will take part in the Adelaide City Plunge, abseiling off the side of the InterContinental Hotel building in Adelaide to raise vital funds for health and medical research in South Australia.

Sixty participants including five teams from across Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre will take the plunge on Friday 25 August to raise funds for Flinders Foundation.

Team Scoop, comprising Kalindra and PhD student Maddi, hopes to raise funds for the Foundation which has generously supported their research work into understanding ways to improve the care and mental wellbeing of young people diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Team Haem features Flinders University haematology researchers Jo, Charlotte, Giles, Lauren, Rachel and Ali who are working to find treatment options that give valuable time to cancer patients.

People who are part of the Head & Neck Cancer team, the Flinders University Prostate Cancer Research Group and the The Brave Biomeds will also be taking the plunge to help the Flinders Foundation support health and medical research and improve patient care.
