Revised policy open for consultation

The revised Academic Freedom and Freedom of Speech Policy is now open for consultation as part of its routine review cycle.

The policy has also been reviewed in order to align with the re-negotiated provisions on academic freedom in the newly approved staff Enterprise Agreement, and incorporate the right to intellectual freedom for professional staff, which had not previously been a feature of the Enterprise Agreement. While this has resulted in wording changes to the policy, no changes have been made to the rights, obligations or procedures for students.

The revisions to the policy resulting from its routine review and changes in the Enterprise Agreement can be viewed via the Flinders Policy Library, Comment on draft policies: https://www.flinders.edu.au/policies/comment-draft-policies

Feedback is now being sought on these revisions, and can be sent to policyandsecretariat@flinders.edu.au by COB Friday 18 August 2023.
